Pronoun Lesson 001

Skills - Recognizing Pronouns

A pronoun is a word used instead of a noun. Some of the most common pronouns are I, me, us, we, our your, you, he, his him, she, her, it its, they, their, them.

Write the pronouns you find in the following sentences.

 

1. Mrs. Jones has returned to her home.

2. Bobby and I enjoyed the ride in your car.
3. "I think we are lost," she said.
4. Give us ten gallons of gas.
5. The birds built their nests in our trees.
6. Many of the people forgot their tickets.
7. Jean has invited us to go with her.
8. Some sentences have more than one pronoun in them.
9. The cat was busily washing its face.
10. We expect you to make a good grade on the test.

11. Margaret and Tom said they would lock the door.

12. Why have you taken off your glasses?

13. The animal has broken its leg.

14. To you we owe our lives.

15. Miss Brown wants you and me to help her.
16. Some trees do not shed their leaves.
17. The automobile lay on its top.
18. You should have written to her sooner.
19. John has gone to visit his uncle. He will be gone a week.
20. You and I were chosen for the play.
21. What did you find in the box when you opened it?
22. Frank and Jane said he and she were coming today.
