Use capital letters whenever they are necessary in the following sentences. Rewrite the sentences on a piece of paper, or print out the assignment and underline the words that should be capitalized. |

1. most of the settlers along the atlantic ocean came from england. |

| 3. this town was built on the james river in virginia. |
| 4. have you ever heard of the man named john smith? |
| 5. he was a wise leader at jamestown. |
| 6. another group of english people sailed to america on the "mayflower." |
| 7. it took many weeks for their ship to cross the atlantic ocean. |
| 8. on the "mayflower" there was about a hundred men and women from england. |
| 9. these english people came to america to worship god in their own way. |
| 10. they built the town of plymouth. |

| 23. no one knows what happened to those english people. |
