- Recognizing Verbs

A verb is a word which declares something about the subject. It expresses (1) action, (2) being, or (3) state of being. Every sentence must contain a verb. Examples: (1) The boys play ball. (2) The men are living. (3) The horse is old. Write the verbs you find in the following sentences. |

1. The man spoke in a loud voice. |
