Yemen |
The people in Yemen like to build villages right on a cliff. When Professor Nibble lived in Yemen he saw little children walking along these cliffs. They were as sure-footed as mountain goats. These houses are made out of mud brick and are traditionally several stories high. It rains very little in Yemen. The altitude of these villages is well over a mile high. Sanaa, the capital city is at 7000 feet. It sits in a gigantic basin. You must travel much higher to visit these villages. |
